If you own a 2007-2008 1098, 1098S or 1098 Tricolore Ducati, you might just want to give a up a good day of riding to get your rear drive sprocket replaced under a recall by Ducati. If it fails, it could mean more than losing the day it would be in the shop for the recall.
While you are at it, if you also have not had your other recall released in May, it may be time to have all three checked out and replaced if your bike is one of the ones in all three.
A statement issued by the firm said: “There are currently two safety recalls for the 1098 which are being dealt with under usual Department of Transport guidelines. The first recall concerns the cam belt pulley tensioners which were found to not be within specified tolerances during the early production of the bike. The second recall is for the fuel pipe clips which are checked for proper installation. In both cases the number of bikes affected is very small.”
WIth three recalls issued in less than a month, you have to wonder what you are paying Ducati for? I had always thought that you were paying for a quality machine that would stand the test of throwing just about anything at it, but now I wonder if you are not paying for all the mistakes they made on the 1098.
