Targeting women, India's pioneering scooter manufacturer Kinetic Motor in collaboration with Taiwan's $1.1 bn automotive giant SYM launched the scooter 'Flyte' here on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters, Rahul Bhatnagar, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Kinetic Motor Company, said the 125cc Kinetic SYM Flyte is based on the SYM X'Pro, SYM's "current bestseller" across 62 countries.
Flyte, which has Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu as the brand ambassador, is a superior gearless scooter in terms of design and styling, engine and technology, ride quality and international level of quality. It is available in five colours and is priced at Rs 37,499 (ex-showroom)in Kochi and offers a three-year warranty, he said.
He said Kinetic has a market share of 8.5 to 9 percent in scooters in Kerala and they have plans to increase it to 20 percent in another five to six months.
He said over 20 percent of Flyte's components were being imported from Taiwan.
